A self-custody wallet gives you control and responsibility. A private key authorizes transactions, while the recovery method restores access. Phantom and MetaMask both say these secrets must never be shared, including with someone claiming to be support.
Use a separate wallet with a limited balance for experiments. Before approval, check the domain, network, asset, recipient and every requested permission. Cancel whenever the request does not match the action you initiated.
